The MAH needs your support to open eyes, minds, and hearts.

After a year of uncertainty, we are thrilled to have opened our doors once again.

We hope you get a chance to enjoy our newest exhibitions—from the community-sourced Out of the Ashes and dazzling Ocean of Light: Submergence to Queer Santa Cruz, which documents the history, contributions, and impact of our LGBTQ+ community. We also hope you enjoyed our recent outdoor programming, including last summer’s RedBall Project, Beyond the Grave series, and Frequency festival.

Made possible by support and collaboration from colleagues, donors, and partners, these inventive offerings help us breathe new life into our cultural scene and public spaces—which we believe is more important than ever as we navigate the pandemic, devising novel ways to reconnect and rebuild.

The MAH has been busy over the past year. We joined community stakeholders to write MAH 2026, a strategic plan that will be our roadmap for the next five years. We committed to a new mission to bring people together through art and local history to explore our diverse cultures. We celebrated our silver anniversary, representing 25 years of impact in Santa Cruz County.

Today we are proud to carry forth what our forebears started—by offering high-quality content and experiences that enrich the community with a deep understanding of our shared past, an appreciation for arts and culture, and collaborations around issues that matter. In this way, we contribute to the vibrancy and vitality of our city and county.

Moving forward, community support will be crucial to our success. We have an exciting lineup of projects in 2022, including a slate of dynamic exhibitions and special events. We greatly appreciate your involvement, and welcome any and all input as to how we can best serve you.
