Get ready for Valentine's Day with the MAH! All creative kiddos are invited to join the MAH's new series of virtual family-friendly events.
Grab your craft supplies and follow along as MAH Learning & Engagement Manager, Jamie Keil, takes you through a hands-on art activity. We'll be joined by special guests, In These Uncertain Times exhibiting artists Dana Peters, Sarah Bianco, & Angelina Reed as they share more about their art practice.

Meet the Artists
Sarah Bianco grew up in the midwest, but has spent most of her life in the Bay Area, moving to Santa Cruz in 1998 to obtain her BFA in Drawing & Painting from UCSC. In addition to her fine art, she is the owner of a decorative painting and interior design business, Painting by Bianco. Sarah lives at the Tannery Arts Center and works out of her studio there, Apricity Gallery.
“The gift of this year has been the demand of the pause. This image is a reproduction of a mural created for HOME: A Stay-at-Home Mural Festival for the Planet featuring over 800 artists from around the world.”
Dana Peters lives and works in Santa Cruz, California where she spends most of my time outdoors, hiking, surfing, making art, and co-curating exhibitions and events at her gallery space: The Art Cave.
“My mural captures my own ponderings in the upheaval of Covid-19. What are the parts of us that are going to make it through this chrysalis stage? What will be left behind and what new surprises will emerge? Part of HOME: A Stay-at-Home Mural Festival for the Planet featuring over 800 artists from around the world.”
Angelina Reed was born in Santa Cruz, California and raised in the nearby hills of Soquel. She loves art, science, and math and was actually a physics major before finishing her BA in Fine Art at UC Santa Cruz. Angie enjoys working in a variety of mediums from photography to ceramics, printmaking to jewelry, drawing to sculpture, painting to book arts. Her inspirations come from stories, memories, and observations, and she is an idea-driven rather than medium-focused artist. She often revisits and explores her subjects, ideas, and themes in different mediums and frequently works in series with multiple pieces that weave together, much like a storyteller.
