History Forum: Preserving Art of the Monterey Bay Region
Visit
Find your space at the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History (MAH) located in downtown Santa Cruz. For the safety of our guests, staff, and community, the museum continues to encourage masking, hand hygiene, self-screening, and other preventive measures. If you are experiencing any symptoms of illness, please visit us another time.
Field Trips
Connect your students to art and history in new ways. Go on a virtual exploration of Santa Cruz County art and history.
Volunteer at the MAH
Our volunteers perform a variety of duties, from answering guest questions to assisting behind the scenes in our offices.
Make a Contribution
Support a museum that serves as a thriving community gathering place through rotating art and history exhibitions, visual and performing artworks, public festivals, education and outreach programs, and cultural celebrations.
Join a Committee
Be part of a creative crew working on projects that move art and history beyond the MAH.
Offsite Locations
The MAH currently oversees and maintains three historical offsite locations in Santa Cruz County. Evergreen Cemetery, Davenport Jail, and the historic Octagon building found on the plaza of Abbott Square bring art and history outside the museum walls. Check out their unique visiting schedules and addresses below to plan your visit.
Press Page
Welcome to the MAH's online press office. Here you will find recent news coverage, press releases, brand assets, and how to get in touch for interviews.
Festivals
From rotating biennials to annual community gatherings, join the MAH for a series of innovative, multi-day events to celebrate the creativity, history, and traditions of Santa Cruz County.
Residencies
The MAH offers a unique research-based residency program in which artists, activists, scholars, and other practitioners draw from history to interpret contemporary themes.
