1st Floor
Lezin Gallery

Welcome to the Colaboratory! We’re reimagining our first floor Lezin Gallery to create a new space for resource sharing and creative collaboration.

Beginning in Summer 2022 visitors will have access to the expansive catalogue of MAH publications as well as additional materials supporting our rotating exhibitions. Delve deeper into local history or expand your exhibition experience with resources and activities that encourage us to learn and grow together as a community. This space will also feature rotating exhibitions by local artists and objects from the MAH’s archive.

To reintroduce this new space we will be featuring artworks centered around the concept of kincentricity—kinship between humans and all other lifeforms—to celebrate a new multi-year initiative and partnership with the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band. This collaboration will work to expand our History Gallery and gardens to better reflect and honor the original stewards of the lands on which our museum stands.

Funding for this project is generously provided through a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) Museums for America program.
