Queer History Webinar: Watsonville High, What's in a Name?

Hear from local historians and community members in this new webinar series celebrating the upcoming exhibition, Queer Santa Cruz.
Did you know Watsonville High was one of the first high schools with a Gay-Straight Alliance club? In collaboration with the drama department, they established the “What’s in a Name” program that took place annually. Hear from those who founded the club to learn how the program was established and the impact it made.
In April the MAH was supposed to open a Santa Cruz Queer History Exhibit created in partnership with the Diversity Center. However, due to the shelter in place orders, the MAH will unveil the exhibit online first. To help you “view” the different parts of the exhibit, learn more about our queer history and keep the MAH & Diversity Center working together while working from home the two organizations are initiating a series of webinars about the different stories related to Santa Cruz Queer History.
Stay tuned for more webinars, behind the scene tours, and the virtual exhibit coming soon.
