SOLD OUT: The Santa Cruz Italian Fishing Colony: 150 Years of Amore
Join historian Geoffrey Dunn—a fourth generation member of the Santa Cruz Italian fishing colony—and learn more about the rich history and culture of that community which began with the eventual immigration of 60 Italian families to Santa Cruz and Capitola from Riva Trigoso (Sestri Levante) in Liguria, Italy.
For over a century, these Italian families ran successful fishing enterprises on the wharf, which, after World War II, included restaurants, party boats, sports fishing, speed boat rides and more. Dunn, a recipient of numerous awards for his writings and films, is the great grandson of colony founders Cottardo and Maria Stagnaro. A few of his books will be available for purchase and signing.
