We've teamed up with Ecology Action and local bike shops to bring you an around the town history scavenger hunt for Santa Cruz Bike Month.
Join this reimagined, safely distanced Race Through Time in honor of Bike Month and our current mountain biking exhibition, Trailblazers.
Solve riddles, plan your route, and whizz through local history in this epic around-the-town scavenger hunt. You have all month to complete and visit as many clues as possible. The top five players will receive epic prizes – stay tuned for more details.
How to Play
- Download the PDF of Clues
- Complete and visit as many of the clues as you can by July 29th. You have from July 1st - July 29th, 2020 to compete.
- Open to all ages & skill levels.
- You can start anywhere on the list. Do one at a time or all at once! We recommend planning out your route at home before heading out.
- You must have your answer keys submitted online by July 29th. [Form coming soon]
- Top 5 scores will win prizes from local bike shops such as Spokesman & Specialized. Prizes include 24-hour bike rental, swag, panniers, and a rear bike rack.
- Winners will be announced July 31st at santacruzmah.org/scavenger-hunt
Before getting on your bicycles read through the clues, solve the riddles, and plan your route. All the riddles lead you to locations throughout Santa Cruz County, California. The goal is to complete as many of the locations as possible and get the most points. There is no need to complete this in one day. You have all of July to get points, so make your routes to your experience level.
Then, while at each location, fill in the blank or follow the prompt to earn your point/s. To submit your answers, compete for the prizes, and receive the answer key fill out the Google Form [Coming Soon]. After completing this step, you could win prizes, be added to our leaderboard, or get a shout out on social media! Be sure to have fun, maintain physical distancing, follow traffic laws, & wear a helmet!
