If you’ve been one of the 130,000 visitors to the MAH this past year you’ve experienced dynamic exhibitions exploring the stories of local seniors, the vibrant recreation of a beloved local mural, the rich history of Santa Cruz County’s vanished Chinatowns, and the preservation of community space by Latinx gardeners.
But now with 2019 winding down, you are probably a little curious about what's to come in 2020. With the start of the new decade right around the corner, let's dive in to see a few of the igniting, inspiring, and interactive exhibitions that will open in 2020.
Trailblazers: The Creative Story Behind Mountain Biking in Santa Cruz
Opening February 7th, 2020 Trailblazers will tell the creative history of the Santa Cruz County mountain biking community. Co-created with over 20 local biking groups, shops, and artists it will dive into the innovation, creativity, and community spirit of the sport.
LGBTQ+ History in Santa Cruz County
Popping up inside the permanent Santa Cruz County History Gallery, this history pod will open in the Spring of 2020. Co-created with The Diversity Center of Santa Cruz the exhibit will feature artifacts from the MAH collection to highlight the important contributions, impact, and history of the LGBTQ+ community in Santa Cruz County.
