Reaching Out. Meeting Community.

The MAH needs your support to bring people together through art and local history.

Over the past year, we have reached out in myriad ways—stretching through the margins and across boundaries to connect people, art, and history well beyond the museum walls.

We hope you have enjoyed our recent outdoor programming, including Día de los Muertos and Beyond the Grave at Evergreen Cemetery, and our inaugural, countywide CommonGround festival. We also hope you get a chance to see our latest exhibitions—from the agriculture-focused Land of Milk and Honey and colorfully bold ReflectioNNN, to The Writing on the Wall and Flowers for Incarcerated Mothers, which explore freedom and justice at the historic Davenport Jail.

The MAH seeks to meet community wherever people are with inventive work that engages, elevates, and connects. Our offerings would not be possible without support from donors, partners, and friends like you.

This year, our team has been working tirelessly to refresh and enliven the MAH inside and out. We completed the first year of our new strategic plan, aligned with key stakeholders and constituencies, introduced new content, programming, and collection highlights, and extended our reach and impact.

Today we are proud to play a central role in Santa Cruz County’s thriving creative industries. Radiating outward from our downtown center, the MAH is at the crossroads of arts, culture, business, and economic development. We contribute to our region’s livability and vibrancy by cultivating ideas, amplifying voices, and inspiring innovation.

Ultimately, however, we are about celebrating the human experience. By offering forums for a wide range of creative expression and subject matter, along with space to collaborate, create, research, and explore, the MAH provides residents and guests with shared, real-time experiences that connect us to our inner artists and storytellers, to one another, and to the world beyond.
