Explore the powerful bond between band and fan.

Fans of The Grateful Dead followed Jerry Garcia around the world like a pied piper. They wrote poems, created intricate fan art and ran an underground economy. An entire subculture exploded around one band and their music. They even have their own name: Deadheads. These intimate artifacts include fan-made creations from the 1995 public memorial to Jerry Garcia.

This exhibition features ephemera drawn from the Garcia Memorial Collection at University Library at UC Santa Cruz.
