Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month Art Event
Friday, February 7, 2025,
5:30pm - 8pm
FREE
Every year, Walnut Avenue honors February as Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (TDVAM). For February’s First Friday, the MAH welcomes the Walnut Avenue Family & Women's Center as we host a TDVAM Art Event.
Join us for an inspiring evening at the Museum of Art and History (MAH) as we kickstart Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month with an interactive community art event. The theme of the night is "Respect That", celebrating healthy relationships, mutual respect, and empowerment. From 5:30 to 8:00 PM, create thought-provoking artwork, engage in meaningful conversations, and be part of a movement to raise awareness and inspire change. Together, we can build a culture of respect and support for young people in our community. Don't miss this chance to connect, learn, and make a difference!
Additional Information about Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (TDVAM):
Dating violence is more common than you may think, especially among teens and young adults: 1 in 3 U.S. teens will experience physical, sexual, or emotional abuse from someone they’re in a relationship with before becoming adults. And nearly half (43%) of U.S. college women report experiencing violent or abusive dating behaviors.
Each February, young adults and their loved ones nationwide raise awareness about teen dating violence through Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (TDVAM). This annual, month-long effort focuses on advocacy and education to stop dating abuse before it starts.
