Santa Cruz Ofrenda Opening Ceremony & Sugar Skull Workshop
A week before our Día de los Muertos celebration at Evergreen Cemetery, we are honored to host an opening ceremony and a sugar skull workshop. Join us for one or both events!
Opening Ceremony, 1 pm
The Santa Cruz Ofrenda invites you to embark on a profound journey of ancestral reverence during our opening ceremony. This sacred event, taking place on October 21st, 2023, from 1 pm to 2:30 pm in the Atrium of the Museum of Art and History, will consecrate the community altar, invoking the spirits of the four directions and our cherished ancestors. Through the harmonious blend of music, song, dance, chants, poetry, and heartfelt speeches, our ceremony serves as a transformative prelude, uniting us in the act of healing our ancestral connections, ourselves, and the generations yet to come. We encourage you to bring flowers and offerings, joining us in this poignant tribute to our shared heritage and collective future.
