This week, get to know the history of Lou Harrison, a queer music composer who amplified Santa Cruz culture around the country. Living in Santa Cruz with his life partner Bill Colvig, Lou was a part of our Santa Cruz LGBTQ+ community for over 40 years. He is noted as being the first performer at the Santa Cruz's Gay Pride parade in 1975.
Hear from those who interacted with Lou and Bill during their years living in the Santa Cruz area. Read more about Lou Harrison here.

In April the MAH was supposed to open a Santa Cruz Queer History Exhibit created in partnership with the Diversity Center. However, due to the shelter in place orders, the MAH will unveil the exhibit online first. To help you “view” the different parts of the exhibit, learn more about our queer history and keep the MAH & Diversity Center working together while working from home the two organizations are initiating a series of webinars about the different stories related to Santa Cruz Queer History.
Stay tuned for more webinars, behind the scene tours, and the virtual exhibit coming soon.
