Saturday, July 4, 2026,
11:30am - 1pm
Join us this Independence Day for a walking tour of Evergreen Cemetery!
What kind of sacrifices were made to create first the village, then the town, and finally the city of Santa Cruz? On this morning walking tour of historic Evergreen Cemetery, explore the theme of celebrating sacrifice and connect with the profound legacies of the individuals who shaped our community.
The tour highlights the deep commitments of early residents, including military veterans and diverse local pioneers, who gave so much to make us who we are today.
About Your Guide
The tour is led by Emerita Professor Traci Bliss, author of Evergreen Cemetery of Santa Cruz. As a local historian with more than 20 relatives buried on the grounds, Professor Bliss brings a deeply personal and authoritative perspective to the triumphs and tragedies of those interred at Evergreen.
