Celebrate the dead with an all-ages festival throughout Downtown Santa Cruz, created in partnership with Senderos.
Experience vibrant dance performances. Get your face painted. Indulge in delicious food. Join in on a procession to enjoy more dance, music and outdoor altars at Evergreen Cemetery.
Enjoy a day of festivities
12:30pm-2:00pm Begin at the MAH for facepainting with Mariposa's Arts, tissue paper flower making with Salud y Cariño, luminaries with Hospice of Santa Cruz County, and mariachi skeletons with Santa Cruz Mission State Historic Park. Enjoy performances by Infantil de Centeotl Danza y Baile, Los Diablos Del Llano De Tecomate, and Ensamble Musical de Senderos.
2:00pm Procession begins. Gather on Cooper Street to proceed to Evergreen Cemetery.
2:25pm Procession arrives at Santa Cruz Mission State Historic Park with performances by Los Diablos Del Llano De Tecomates and Banda de Senderos.
2:55pm Procession leaves SC Mission State Historic Park.
3:10pm Procession arrives at Evergreen Cemetery.
3:30-6pm Enjoy music, dancing, Mexican food & drink by Senderos, and altars at Evergreen Cemetery.

- Explore an outdoor altar installation connecting those buried in Evergreen with current active community members, groups and local social issues including: Louden Nelson Community Center, Santa Cruz Community Health Centers, and many more.

6:15pm Movie screening at the cemetery. We invite visitors to sit back, relax and enjoy this family-friendly film in Evergreen Cemetery. Popcorn will be provided. Bringing your own blanket or lawn chairs is recommended.
