Come for the free coffee and breakfast...stay for the creative inspiration and genuine connections.
The MAH has partnered with CreativeMornings Santa Cruz to host a free monthly breakfast lecture series that unites our town’s creative community. It’s a space where local visionaries, misfits, and anyone who cares about making something real can collide over coffee and pastries, while listening to a local innovator share their creative insights. Everyone is creative, and everyone is welcome.
This is face to face communion for the creatively restless, run entirely by volunteers who believe community isn't dead, it's just been waiting for you to show up.
This month's theme is NAHKLAH (Arabic for palm tree) featuring creative community leader Mireya Gomez-Contrera
Mireya Gomez-Contreras is the Executive Director of Esperanza Community Farms in Watsonville, California. With over 27 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, she brings a deep commitment to community power-building, systems change, and culturally-rooted creative projects. Raised in a farmworker family in the San Joaquin Valley and Central Coast, Mireya’s early experiences inspired her passion for fairness and well-being.
She holds a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Education from UC Santa Cruz. As a Language and Cultural Consultant she blends her personal roots, professional expertise, and creative energies to work with teams to build a healthier, more connected community. She is also a proud mother of two littles and enjoys gardening and crafting during her personal time.
