During the opening of our first outdoor exhibition, Community is Collective Care join Yasmina Porter of Insight Santa Cruz for an Envisioning Equity Community Meditation.

This community meditation is for all people who are interested in a contemplative and creative process of envisioning equity beginning with our own bodies/hearts/minds and expanding to include all beings on earth.

Hosted at the MAH in September, this monthly series will choose a different place to collectively reflect on the possibility of becoming truly awakened. You can see upcoming locations by visiting Insight Santa Cruz >>

Event Schedule

12-5pm: Stop by anytime after Noon to explore the opening of the MAH's first outdoor Community is Collective Care.

4:55pm: Join Yasmina in the Secret Garden as the mediation begins right at 5pm.

5-5:30pm: The first 30 minutes of meditation may include various forms of meditation seated, standing or moving, silence, sound, art, journaling, guided and free practices.

5:30-6pm: Following the meditation will be 30 minutes of community sharing and brainstorming/heart-settling, hearing and witnessing one another in community. Your hosts, Insight Santa Cruz, ask that participants bring their heart, a journal, and any creative playful supplies such as: crayons, play dough, markers, cardboard, chalk, magazines, scissors, or glue.

Remember, just a willing heart, paper, and pencil will do fine.

Meditation and creative journaling are our tools. And we encourage limitless creativity on how we might share our vision with one another. Sharing is optional, anyone can pass at any time.

Willingness to be a present, and compassionate witness is important. We are going through a collective trauma, so it will also be essential that people exercise self-care in revealing and witnessing to the extent they are able and taking responsibility for ourselves
