Tour Santa Cruz's lost Chinatowns on bike with exhibiting artist Tessa Hulls. Explore how we weave local history with our own.
Meet at the museum to explore the newly opened Guided by Ghosts, featuring Tessa's gorgeous watercolors and deeply personal graphic novel panels. In this show, Tessa explores her Chinese ancestry and links it to Santa Cruz's own storied Chinese history. Before we depart, Tessa will speak about her work and creative process behind this powerful exhibition.
Then, hop on your bike to go on a guided two-wheeled tour of Santa Cruz's former Chinatown sites. Expect to ride about four miles– we'll bike along the San Lorenzo River trail and visit sites like Evergreen Cemetery.
