Those bright red MAH aprons work a little bit like superhero costumes in the museum. Slip one on and turn into a gallery host, an event helper, or a street team marketer.
Become a volunteer by coming to an orientation session on every second Saturday at 11:30am. Volunteers are integral to forging connections, encouraging repeat visitors, and creating a welcoming atmosphere. Lend a hand and be part of the MAH experience.
Help with a variety of activities during 1st & 3rd Fridays and other events: bartending, facilitating art activities for visitors, set-up and greeting, among others.
Volunteers welcome & engage museum visitors by using active listening, sharing and exploring stories, interests, and experiences around the exhibitions to enhance the museum experience for everyone. Through interactive training session, the program offers volunteers to learn, experiment and hone their skills at engaging museum visitors around content.
Help Evergreen Cemetery stay evergreen. Assist with restoration efforts at this historic landmark by maintaing pathways & overgrowth. Volunteers can also help with research projects and genealogical inquiries.
We are looking for a group of excited folks to be the force behind a new marketing initiative for the MAH– the MAH Guerrillas. We don’t use ‘guerrillas’ lightly; we want your weirdest and most off-the-grid ideas to cleverly market our events (more on guerrilla marketing here). Yarn bombing, spontaneous parades, and flash mobs are all welcome. You still need to be down with more traditional ways of marketing– flyering, hanging up posters, talking to folks– but we embrace any and all of your greater schemes and dreams.
